HEBREW GIMEL LEVEL (ADVANCED FLUENCY)

HEBREW GIMEL LEVEL (ADVANCED FLUENCY)

The Institute for Hebrew Language and Literature offers the Hebrew Gimel Level, an advanced course designed for students who have already completed the Bet Level or possess strong intermediate proficiency in modern Hebrew.

This course follows the structure of Israeli ulpan programs at the Gimel level, where the focus shifts from structured learning to active, independent, and confident use of the Hebrew language in complex and natural communication.

The course lasts four months and is held twice a week via Zoom.
The program begins on June 15, 2027.

Entry Requirements

Enrollment in the Gimel Level requires:

  • completion of the Hebrew Bet Level
    or
  • demonstrated upper-intermediate knowledge of modern Hebrew

All candidates without formal certification will undergo a short assessment via WhatsApp call to determine their level.

Course Content

The Hebrew Gimel Level is aimed at developing advanced fluency, enabling students to communicate naturally, understand complex spoken Hebrew, and engage with authentic materials.

In accordance with Israeli ulpan methodology, the course includes:

  • advanced vocabulary expansion (abstract, academic, and professional language)
  • refinement of complex grammar structures and verb usage
  • fluent reading of authentic Hebrew texts (articles, essays, short literature)
  • advanced conversation and discussion on diverse topics
  • development of argumentation and expression of opinions in Hebrew
  • listening comprehension using real-life Israeli speech and media
  • writing structured texts (essays, summaries, analyses)
  • idiomatic expressions and natural spoken Hebrew
  • exposure to Israeli society, culture, and contemporary language use
  • increased speed and confidence in real-time communication

The course is designed to move students toward near-independent language use, where Hebrew becomes a practical tool rather than a subject of study.
