Description

This research project presents a comprehensive philological and linguistic analysis of the Great Isaiah Scroll from Qumran (1QIsaa), one of the most significant manuscripts among the Dead Sea Scrolls.

The study systematically examines all 54 columns of the scroll, focusing on orthographic variation, scribal practices, and the relationship between the Qumran text and the Masoretic tradition. Each column is analyzed through a combination of linguistic, textual, and exegetical approaches, with particular attention to graphemic features, matres lectionis, and patterns of scribal intervention.

The project is structured as a series of individual studies, each dedicated to a single column of the scroll. These studies are being published progressively and made available through academic repositories.
